Find a Profitable Niche: Part 3: Assessing Demand

We’ll move onto the third step of finding a profitable niche using niche keyword research. If you haven’t seen part two where we compared niche themes based on overall demand and supply, visit this article: 5 Steps To Find a Profitable Niche: Part 2

We’ll now look at the demand for the top  keywords related to the term “constipation”

Firstly, we are going to use Google’s Adwords keyword search-based tool to compile a list of the most searched words  related to constipation  in the English speaking world (you may have to tailor the languages and countries option from an available drop down menu).

The process is as follows:

* Enter ‘constipation’ into Google’s keyword search tool.

*Put the other constipation related terms into your spreadsheet. Use the top 15-20 keywords that have the
highest search volumes (these will have the highest potential traffic).

*Put the values for the approximate average search volume into the demand category of your spreadsheet
(this value is the average monthly number of searches over the last 12 months).

*You could refine your search a little further by having a quick look at advertiser competition
(this shows an approximate number of advertisers bidding on each keyword). If possible try and focus on
keywords that have low advertiser competition (but this part is not essential at the moment).

Your table will look like this:

Keywords Global Monthly Search Volume (Broad)
constipation 1220000
constipation baby 33100
constipation cause 33100
chronic constipation 27100
children constipation 22200
