Niche Affiliate Marketing Program: Niche Affiliate Marketing Programs for MLM

Now what is a Niche Affiliate Marketing Program for MLM?

We’ve spoken about niches, we’ve spoken about affiliate marketing programs and we’ve spoken about MLM.

The way I understand it is it’s an affiliate program that you join, in order to sell/promote a product that compliments your niche MLM marketing (the niche you’ve chosen to go with to target a specific market that would find your MLM products/company/marketing plan  a good solution for their needs)

Let’s take two examples here:

Niche Affiliate Marketing Program for MLM Customers

Say you’re in an MLM that has skin care products as its main product range.

Now you’ve had wonderful results with the product- your stretchmarks have almost

completely gone as a result of you using the stretchmark cream.

You decide to focus on attracting product customers that would like to remove stretchmarks.

You build your sales funnel complete with lead capture page, thank you page, theme based blog about stretchmarks.

You start driving traffic using social media marketing and syndicating your content across the internet.

Now you decide you’d like to monetize on all these leads you’re getting, so on the thank you page you invite your leads to take a look at a niche affiliate marketing program to include in your sales funnel.

You do a bit of research and find something you believe your niche traget market would like.

The product is an E-book called ‘How to Permanently Remove Stretchmarks”.

It costs $29.95 and, as an affiliate, you get $14.95 per referred sale.

Congrats! You have just become part of this niche affiliate marketing program.

Niche Affiliate Marketing Program for MLM Distributors

Here’s an example if you’re attracting MLM distributors:

Your capture page and blog is all about how you teach prospective MLMers your special marketing system that helps them generate leads online.

Your niche is social media marketing, specifically how to use Facebook to attract leads.

Your  theme based blog is all about tips and techniques for using Facebook for Business and you have also taken a course with Mari Smith- the Facebook Guru.

Now, Mari has an affiliate program attached to her course. You sign up as an affiliate and decide to promote the course on your blog and thank you page.

You’ll  put the Mari Smith Facebook banner on your blog and thank you page (embedded with  your affiliate code of course) and every time a lead buys Mari’s course, you get a percentage of the sale (commission).

The great benefit of this is that you are making money through your affiliate marketing program, as you provide solutions for your niche market.

It’s also known as a funded proposal. (You are being funded to propose more offers- namely your MLM- to this prospect.)

There’s another way you could think of a Niche Marketing Affiliate Program:

If you have used and loved a product that helped you find your niche or do the keyword research on your niche, (e.g Nicheology or NicheFinder) you could become an affiliate of that product and join the Niche Marketing Affiliate program.

Niche Affiliate Marketing Program- where to find one:
This is easy.

clickbankYou just go to clickbank.com or paydotcom.com, enter in the keyword phrase (in the search box) and scour the marketplace to see which products would suit your niche market.

Join up as an affiliate, grab your unique affiliate link and start promoting the banners, links and videos on your website, in your emails or on your thank you page!

Why do you need a niche affiliate network marketing program?

Quite simply because you need to make money upfront on all the leads you generate!

Remember, 90% of them will not join your MLM Business Opportunity!

Why not offer them something else they will need- something that’ll take them one step closer to finding their solution.

The cash flow of your business will IMPROVE and you’ll have more money to reinvest into your marketing and business development!

If you become a power affiliate, your profits can be substantial and you can take your business (and life) to the next level!

Niche Market Research

niche market researchNiche Market Research

Today we’ll look at Niche Market Research- where do you start researching a Niche Market?

Do you start with a product? Do you start with keywords?

The answer is: First start with a niche and then find out what they want!

Remember, buyers with needs= sales!

Its no good finding a niche without buyers!

Once you’ve found a niche with “buyers”, make sure those buyers have needs that need to be filled!

Once you you’ve found their “need”,  find out if those buyers have money!

Then give them what they want!!!

This article discusses finding those buyers needs and how to go about that.

If you haven’t yet found your perfect niche, refer to “How to Find Your Niche: Finding Your Niche within your Network Marketing Business”

For those of you that have found your niche, you need to move onto doing your niche market research.

Read on because we’re going to go into how to find those buyers needs…

1. Niche Market Research: You could start with your own experience.

Then you know what is needed!

So for example, I am in the business of training Network Marketers to put their MLM businesses online.

Having been a newbie quite recently (about a year ago) I can relate to online  MLM newbies who are struggling with the technical and marketing aspects of creating an online presence.

I remember what it was like slogging away for hours on end at my computer, only to find that days went by without me generating a single lead! I know the frustration and questions I had plaguing me throughout my process.

What do I do first? How do I create a lead capture page? Which blogging platform should I use? How do I install a Wordpress blog? How do I create a good email autoresponder message? When can I create my own products? How do I put my network marketing products or services in front of my audience in a non salesy way? What is the best way to generate traffic to my pages? A website or a blog- which is better? How do I integrate my funded proposals (affiliate products) into my sales funnel? What am I doing wrong? Why no leads?

I already knew what the questions and needs of  my target market was- because I had been there and done that.

Its a great starting point for your research.

2. Niche Market Research: You could talk to others.

I had extensive discussions with other struggling online network marketers going through the same things as me! Consulting and talking to your prospects and colleagues will really help clarify what the real issues are.

3. Niche Market Research: You MUST do your niche market research online.

Here is a way to either dispute or confirm your preliminary assumptions. It’ll also give you more information about your niche market- so you can pin point exactly what it is they are needing.

Start with the forums. Do a Google search and type in “your niche” + “forums” and you’ll get a list of your niche forums.

Or you can find blogs within your niche (type in your niche + blogs).

Blog authors often refer to forums and give forum links from within their blog posts (these are the most popular you’ll probably find that people use them!)

Or you can go to forum directories- (directories online that list forums that are available).

For example: www.Big-Boards.com (There are over 2100 active forums listed here-on many topics!)

This is cool- because you get to see how many members there are and how many posts there are on a forum.

At www.Big-Boards.com

You’ll see the forums listed- and sorted by number of posts.

Choose your one (closest to your niche- you can also use the search function) and once you’re in the forum, look for the number of threads and posts (to see if it’s a hot topic!)

Click on a topic with lots of threads. Scroll down past the sticky posts to the actual threads.

Look at the threads with the most posts and views. Look at the subject matter.

Ask yourself- could you find a product/service here that could serve this need?

Dig deep into the threads and posts to see what people are talking about and if there’s an affiliate product that you can join- that is related to the topic.

If you put a post about the topic on your website/blog (so that people find it when searching on Google), you could

monetize by including links to the related affiliate product (or your own product!)

Remember: Go through the posts thoroughly to see what their questions are so you can write your post in a way that answers your target audience’s questions!

Lets Recap:

Look for a forum related to your niche.

Search for active threads and active posts.

Read what people are asking about.

Find some products that are related (or that serve a need). Or find a competitor’s product that could “fill a gap” or create your own product!

Write your blog posts answering the questions being asked and have links in the blog post that directs them to helpful products that you are affiliated to! (Make sales!)

Niche Market Research: Key Questions To Answer

When you’re going about your research, have these questions in mind:

What are people talking about?
What are people asking about?
What are people complaining about?
What solutions are others offering?
What products are being discussed?
What are the price points of those products?

Figure out how to tailor your solution to their needs. Perhaps you find people are having an issue with a certain product?

Show them why your solution is better!

“The smart and savvy marketer will always seek the wants and needs of others first, and
then supply exactly what they are looking for.”

They will:
1. Find a market they can sell to at a profit – even a small market is good if its profitable.
2. Find a product to sell to that exact market.
3. Build a marketing concept around their product.
4. Create a website to again sell that concept.
5. They get the word out, so others know where to find them – and buy!

Remember, a good niche is one that has three major qualities:
* It exists already;
* It’s easily identifiable;
* And it’s easily targetable.

Let me explain why this is important.

The most commonly asked question I receive from aspiring entrepreneurs is this: “What
product should I sell?” (Or “what sells well on the Internet?”) Quite frankly, everything sells
(and can sell well) — from pet food to travel packages — in some way, especially online.

In fact, everything is being or can be sold, somehow, in some form or another.

But that’s not the problem. It’s not what you sell. It’s to whom.

In other words, don’t look first for a product to sell.

Look for an easily targetable market with an easily identifiable need or problem, and fill their need or provide them with the solution.” [Michael Fortin]

Niche Target Market Research

Questions to ask yourself about your target market

Target Market Research

1. Who is your target market? How do you define them? What is your ideal client? (Customer avatar).

2. What Makes my Perfect Customer Tick (Why do they get out of bed? Who is the most important person? What do they want to achieve in this world? What do they love about life? What is most important to them?

3. Their Hot Points and Pain

4. Their Top Fears and Frustrations. What gets them mad and worried

5. And What Do They Want? What outcome are they really after? What are their top desires and wants. What end goal do they think they want?

6. What does my site and products do or give that my ideal customer doesn’t know about? What are the hidden benefits that they don’t know about

7. What does my perfect customer expect me to deliver?

8. What I am going to give my ideal customers … What’s included in my products/services

9. How am I going to deliver it

10. Where can I improve?

OK. So you’ve identified your niche, done your niche market research,  (to see if there are buyers with needs) and now you need to plan what solutions/products or services you are going to provide them with.

After this you’ll start targeting the niche market by providing excellent quality information on your blog (or using a PPC campaign) to drive traffic to your site- and make sales!

But hang on, we’re getting ahead of ourselves here. The next thing you need to do (after your niche market research) is to find out what keywords your target market are typing in, so your blog post can be found!

Definition of a Niche

Find a Profitable Niche (5 short articles taking you through the process step by step)

Definition of a Niche

definition of a nicheDefinition of a Niche

The dictionary defines a niche as follows:

1. wall recess: a recess in a wall, especially one made to hold a statue

2. hollow place: any recess or hollow, e.g. in a rock formation

3. suitable place for somebody: a position or activity that particularly suits somebody’s talents and personality or that somebody can make his or her own

She carved out her own niche in the industry.

4. commerce specialized market: an area of the market specializing in one type of product or service designed to undercut the competition in the same niche

5. ecology place in nature: the role of an organism within its natural environment that determines its relations with other organisms and ensures its survival

A niche market is the subset of the market on which a specific product is focusing on.

Therefore the market niche defines the specific product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intending to impact.

So a niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market.

By definition, then, a business that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers.

You can think of a niche market as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.

Definition of a Niche: Example

For instance, instead of offering gymnastics services, a business might establish a niche market by specializing in “recreation gymnastics for children between age 4 and 9 years of age.”

You can see how this market niche is clearly definable (parents of children wanting recreational (not competitive) gymnastics for their children in the age category of 4-9 years.

Why should you bother to establish a niche market?

Because of the great advantage of being alone there; other small businesses may not be aware of your particular niche market, and large businesses won’t want to bother with it.

The trick to capitalizing on a niche market is to find or develop a market niche that has customers who are accessible, that is growing fast enough, and that is not owned by one established vendor already.

Establishing a niche market gives you the opportunity to provide products and services to a group that other businesses have overlooked or are not specialised enough in.

Here are some more definitions related to definition of a niche:

Demographics – Socioeconomic groups, characterized by age, income, sex, education, occupation, etc., that comprise a market niche.

Market research – The collection and analysis of information about consumers, market niches, and the effectiveness of marketing programs.

How To Find Your Niche:Finding Your Niche Within Your Network Marketing Business

nichemarketingbullseyeHow to Find Your Niche: Finding Your Niche within your Network Marketing Business is not as difficult as you may think!

Firstly you need to know what a niche market is. A niche market is a definable group of people with a specific interest or need. They can also be called target market or niche target market.

Finding a niche market just means finding a sub target market or sub category of people interested in  a specific solution or having a specific interest or need.

Once you do your niche market research, you can provide solutions to them- and if you are in Network Marketing (MLM), some of your products or services may well be the solutions they are looking for. There could also be other (non MLM ) products- like E books or other info products (audio downloads, video downloads, membership sites, coaching services etc)- that answer to your target market’s needs.

Of course, your Unique Selling Proposition is the heart of the matter-making your product stand out from the crowd. Its what makes people want to buy from YOU. Its your marketing strategy and your business mission.

So, to give an example- in the category of “natural skin care” a niche, or sub category could be “natural skin care for excema sufferers”.

An even narrower niche might be “natural skin care for teenage excema sufferers”.

Generally speaking, the narrower you can make your niche the more focused you can be on providing information  to that particular segment of the population and the more relevant your marketing message is going to be to their particular, specific concerns and issues.

How to Find Your Niche within your MLM Range of Products or Services- Find Your Story

Very often when you join a Network Marketing Opportunity, you are taught to “go out there and find whoever is interested in your MLM Products and Business Opportunity”.

This is a generalised approach and what one finds happening is your target market is too broad and doesn’t really focus on any segment of the poulation’s particular problem, need or desire.

When you speak to a general broad market, you generally speak to nobody!

So for example if you’re in the Nutritional or wellness industry, it’ll be a really good idea to narrow down your focus and select a product that has a solution for a specific ailment or health care issue.

A good friend of mine did exactly this with great success.

He suffered from sinus problems and after taking his MLM Product, he found that he was able to prevent his recurring infections from coming back to haunt him.

Now, his MLM has nutritional supplements for many many different types of problems and health issues- but he decided to focus on the sinus sufferers as his targeted niche market.

All his marketing content, messages and products are focused on the needs and concerns of sinus sufferers.

More specifically, he is targeting people who want to PREVENT sinus suffering, rather than continue treating only the symptoms.

He has also decided to focus on individuals who are averse to taking drugs to solve their problems.

He is targeting people looking at natural remedies for sinus prevention. So instead of going out there and flogging his company, its products and its compensation plan, he is actually targeting a niche market of people with a particular problem, wanting a particular solution.

He is then able to provide them with the answer to their problems (in the form of information and products), and in that way, introduce his MLM products to his prospects.

Some will have such good results that they’ll eventually sign on as distributors within his downline.

How to Find Your Niche: Where to Begin

A good place to start is to ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What do u know a lot about?
  2. What are you passionate about
  3. What do you do every day?
  4. What have you overcome in your life?

This will narrow down your focus and allow you to target exactly the questions and concerns your ideal clients have.

Have you noticed how the Network Marketing heavy hitters all use their “how I overcame” story?

Usually the story starts off with how their life was before joining XYZ Company…and moves to how his life is now. This is a great business marketing strategy, allowing many listeners to identify with the leader and have hope that they too will succeed, just like he did.

If you can craft a story relating to your MLM product (how your particular problem was treated/solved) or your MLM business building efforts (how you were able to generate leads or make a profit or succeed in some area of business, start paying off your debt, put your kids in a better school, stay at home with your kids etc), you already have a head start.

You will be able to talk to a specific target market with authenticity-  in such a way that your audience is able to identify with you. You instantly become a likeable character and someone your prospects can relate to and trust.

Luckily, most of us started in MLM because the products did so much for us. If this is the case, use this as your starting point. But it goes much deeper than that.

After you’ve formed a general idea of the niche you’d like to focus on, its time to do some keyword research.

How To Find Your Niche: Do Your Keyword Research

Go over to www.SEObook.com.

Its a free keyword tool that’ll help you get an idea of what people are typing into Google and how many searches are being performed on keywords related to your niche.

Start by typing in a generic term  for example, knitting.

You’ll see that there are around 2063 searches/day for free knitting patterns!

When you’re looking at analysing the results of your research, for your generic keyword (e.g knitting), make sure there are at least 300 searches per day for that keyword.

Less than this probably means there’s not really a market for your chosen niche.

Then take a look at related keywords: For example you’ll find 275 searches per day for the word ” knitting needles”.

Ideally you’d like to have lots of related keywords that have lots of people searching on them!

Of course, one can always use Google to get an excellent idea of what’s going on (or not!) within your niche.

When you do a Google search- look in the left hand side for the organic results.

Ideally you should look for returns from around 30 000-50 000 pages on your topic. (More than this could mean your niche is too broad).

Also remember to look for paid adverts too. If there are quite a few people selling info products, you’ve probably found a lucrative niche!

How to Find Your Niche: Finding Additional Products for a Niche (or finding a fit with your MLM Products)

The goal here is to really find out what the target market’s specific problems, issues and concerns are. Put yourself in their shoes and imagine your prospect sitting over coffee with their best friend saying:” I’ve gotta do something about my…………………(fill in the blank!)”

If your target market is excema sufferers who want natural skin care products- and your MLM provides that – great!

But there are other ways of providing your audience with what they need as well. For example, information on excema and natural skin care. An E book on this would be an excellent way of pre selling your prospect, educating them about natural skin care solutions for excema and priming them to buy your products.

If you don’t have your own E book, you can start recommending existing affiliate products/books.

Buy some affiliate products related to your niche and promote them as an affiliate.

You can do this by doing a search on Google…find affiliate programmes that are out there that are selling a product that your target market would enjoy. (For example an E book on Sinus Treatment or Excema)

Sign up for the author’s newsletter and actually buy their products as well. It makes for a much better recommendation when you write your emails to your list.

Always think of your customer as a living breathing person. Try and be specific about them- who they are and what their issues are.

This is called having a customer avatar- the ideal customer you want to attract to you.

When you communicate with them, keep the picture of them in your mind.

Clickbank is also a great place to get digital affiliate products.

They are inexpensive too- so try them out! Just do a search in Clickbank’s Market Place.

Type in the key words related to your niche.

Other places to go are Commission Junction (CJ) and PayDotCom.com.

Spend a lot of time finding the right niche. Find the niche first, then find out what they’re looking for (ask them) and then give them what they want.

Promote affiliate programmes first (to get some money coming in).

Then write the E book.

If they’re  saying : I like it, I love it, I want more of it…you have a profitable niche (rabid buyers who love that topic!)

Finding a Niche is probably the single most important thing you need to to before to start with your marketing efforts.
