Realise that the internet is a powerful tool, but there’s a steep learning curve for most
network marketers- especially if all you’ve been taught up to now is Old School methods of generating leads.
When I started, it felt as if I had taken two steps forwards and three steps backwards.
The overwhelm started getting to me and I know this is the same for many of my students.
Here’s a road map that has been very helpful in my leadership development journey.

1. Join a Step by Step Internet Attraction Marketing Training Programme
One that gives you visual tutorials on how to set up your presence on the web to start
attracting prospects to you.
Try to look for one that has in built mentoring or guidance for
those times when you are stuck or need to take it to the next level.
Make sure this is low cost but affordable.
If the school has an affiliate programme attached to it, it’s even better for two reasons:
Firstly you can very quickly generate income through referring people to the school, which pays for your tuition.
Secondly, your referrals (prospects) get a training system to plug into.
You can point them in the right direction and offer support and guidance but not actually do all the training
yourself.
Note:
This should be more than just a funded proposal system- you still need to learn to attract prospects
to your lead capture pages!
2. Learn the Basics thoroughly.
- Learn to narrow in on a specific niche target market (that has money and wants your services/products!)
- Learn how to get found on the internet.
- Learn about keyword research.
- Learn how to create written content and video to put up at Web 2.0 locations.
- Learn how to make your own blog.
- Learn to write so that your audience is “pulled in” to you and your recommendations.
- Learn how to market your blog and web content through Social Media Marketing, SEO and Content Syndication
- Learn to use the phone to build the relationship with your prospects and continue the attraction by giving value.
- Learn to set up effective capture pages that target different audiences related to your business.
- Learn to set up an effective auto email campaign to your target market(s).
Have patience.
Especially if you are new.
Learning these things takes time.
Don’t skip the essential learning curve.
Once you’ve got it down, you be able to teach this stuff.
It’s highly sought after right now so you’ll be attractive to a lot of learners that come on board after you.
3. Use Two or Three affiliate Programmes/Funded Proposal Systems
Funded Proposal Systems help generate leads and cash flow.
It just means being paid while you prospect.
(These are products or services/systems you use besides your primary MLM).
Ideally the products should be what you find helpful in your business building efforts.
As you use them yourself you will get to know them well and be in a good position to recommend
them with confidence.
Remember, the resources you recommend must relate to your target market’s interests.
If you are in network marketing, you might want to attract people interested in joining a
network marketing opportunity or network marketers looking for training on how to improve their
current business.
You need to be able to demonstrate your leadership capacity and referring prospects
to good helpful resources positions you as knowledgeable.
Become an expert on your recommended resources so you will know exactly how they “fit”
with your target market’s needs and you will be able to help them buy, set them up or move through the
training (if it’s a training course).
In our industry we have excellent books, tools and training programmes, lead generation systems and business
opportunities.
These can provide solutions for our target markets and at the same time, as you help them through
the programme, you have an ideal opportunity to develop a closer working relationship that can lead to all
sorts of other opportunities:
Like you can offer your services as a coach for which you get paid.
Or your prospect might enjoy the way you work and help them so much, they might decide you are the network marketing leader they are looking for and join you in your MLM.

get the teaching and ongoing mentoring you will need to grow your business.
6. Join a Mastermind Group to further your MLM Online Training
This is so helpful because you can come with questions and give support to your peers.
Peer learning is very powerful and very supportive to work with colleagues.
It also opens up future business
dealings like JV’s and Co-ops.

Here’s an example of what I as a coach am doing for my students:
- Help them find their niche target market (using inner exploration and and outer targeted keyword research methods)
- I look over their blogs, give tips on how to improve the writing, how to inject their
personalities into the blog and how to create a great reviews on their affiliate programmes.
- I check the blog silo structure and categories, to ensure it is SEO’d.
- Show how to track results (see where traffic is coming from).
- I look at their overall linking strategy – making their links from other content to their
blogs more of a coherent overall strategy.
